Hello,
It is the holiday season and as usual the crooks are looking to take from you. Make sure that you protect yourself and do not fall for any of their scams.
In past years Dunstable has had trouble with packages being stolen from your mail box. If you are expecting something in the mail make sure you take steps to ensure that your packages are not stolen. Keep an extra eye on your mail box. If you have to leave your house ask a neighbor to look for your package.
Over the past few weeks we have had several items stolen out of people’s cars. There is a very simple way to protect yourself from being a victim of a “car burglary”. Lock your car doors and do not leave any valuables in the vehicle. If you decide to leave a gps in the vehicle make sure you have the make model and serial number. All too often we catch the crooks with piles of electronics however, there is no way to trace them back to the owner.
Lately it seems that gift cards are becoming the new quick gift to give. Make sure that there are no restrictions on the gift cards you pick out. Some companies manage to slowly deduct a fee from your card once you use it. Gift cards may be like cash however they are not. Use them up and do not let them sit in a drawer for years.
Finally, I say this every year and I will say it again. If the weather is poor, Stay Home and Do Not Drive.
Thank you,
Sgt. Darrell Gilmore
