Transfer Station

Purchasing Transfer Station Permits – Stickers and Tags

To use the transfer station, you must have a transfer station sticker on your car and tags on all trash bags. Tags from the previous year may be used in January, while new permits are being sold. However, by the end of January, you must have a current- year sticker on your car and use current-year tags. Transfer Station regulations are strictly enforced.

Large Bulky Item Drop-off

Approximately twice a year the transfer station will accept bulky items.  Watch for notice of those dates around the last three weeks of October and the last three weeks of April.

Bulky items must be tagged before entering the transfer station and must be off-loaded from a vehicle under the direction of the monitor.  Tags must be affixed to bulky items according to the following schedule per item:

Items Not Allowed at Transfer Station

Except as provided for under "bulky items" the list of items prohibited from the Transfer Station includes but is not limited to:

Transfer Station

The Transfer Station is operated by the Board of Health and is 100% supported by recycling and the sale of transfer station permits. Although some residents contract private trash pickup services, many Dunstable residents dispose of their trash and recyclable items at the transfer station on Depot Street, which is open between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm on Saturdays. In the process, they often get a chance to greet friends and find out what's going on.

Recycling

Dunstable has a very active recycling program. There is no limit on the amount of recyclable material you can deposit.
