2010 Annual Town Census Forms

The annual town census forms are now being mailed to each household.  Please make every attempt to return it by January 30, 2010.  The annual town census is a legal document required under MA to maintain an active voter status.

2010 Dog Licenses Now Available

2010 dog licenses are now available (2009 licenses expire 12/31/09).  If you own a dog that is 6 months of age or older, it must be licensed in accordance with Massachusetts state law.  A current rabies vaccination must be on file with the Town Clerk before a license can be issued.  Late fees and fines are assessed after March 1 per order of the Town of Dunstable Dog Control Bylaw.  If you have any questions or want to determine if a current rabies certificate is on file, please contact the Town Clerk.

Fishing Licenses Now On Sale

Fishing licenses are now on sale.  The cost of a resident fishing license is $28.50 and they make great gifts!  If you can’t come in during my office hours, you can call me with the information and I’ll pre-issue the license for pickup (does not apply to hunting or sporting licenses).

Raffle Permits

Nonprofit organizations in existence for more than two years, that are either veterans' organizations chartered by Congress; church or religious organizations; fraternal or fraternal benefit societies; educational or charitable organizations; civic or service club organizations; or a club or organization operated exclusively for pleasure, recreation, and other nonprofit purposes, where no part of the net earnings inures to the benefit of any member or shareholder, may apply to the Town Clerk to conduct a raffle or a bazaar.

Passports

The Town Clerk’s office is an approved Passport Acceptance Facility.

How do I protect my business name?

Filing a Business Certificate at the local level does not protect your name. If you wish to register a trademark or service mark with the State of Massachusetts, contact the Corporations Division, Secretary of the Commonwealth, One Ashburton Place, 17th floor, Boston, MA 02108, phone (617)727-9640 or, go to: www.state.ma/us/sec and click on "Corporations Division".

Business Certificates aka DBA's

Persons conducting a business under any title other than the true name of the person, partnership or corporation, must file a Business Certificate (also know as "Doing Business As") with the Town Clerk's office

Zoning Board of Appeals Filings and Decisions

The ZBA was established in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 40A, Section 12, of the Massachusetts General Laws, to hear and decide appeals relative to the administration of the Zoning Bylaw.  An appeal to the Board of Appeals may be made by any person aggrieved by reason of his inability to obtain a permit resulting from any administrative decision rendered in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 40A of the General Laws, or by any Officer or Board of the Town in violation of Chapter 40A, or by any person aggrieved by any order or decision of the Building Inspector, or any ordina

Dog Licenses

All dogs at age 6 months or older must be licensed in accordance with state law. A current rabies vaccination must be on file or presented at the time of licensing. License fees are $6.00 for spayed/neutered dogs, and $10.00 without proof of spaying/neutering. If the rabies certificate on file with the Town Clerk is current, you may purchase your license by mail . A self-addressed, stamped envelope must be enclosed.
